I don't think I can answer the bell.
I've taken punches left and right

For those who are wondering just what the heck this is about, it's a reference to boxing. If a fighter is beaten badly and he can't stand up and be ready to fight when the bell rings to start a new round, it is said that he is unable to "answer the bell."
